Guitar for Beginners

It has been quite some time since picking up a guitar that I truly was back at the start learning the guitar for beginners all over again. It was an amazing feeling as I had been looking forward to the day I would once again start belting out my favourite songs! I used to play everyday until my fingers bled just trying to nail a song so I didn’t look the fool when I got up as the lead guitarist for my band. We were “Skunk Mutha’s Pastry” a name coined from nothing in particular but very much in fitting with our image…we didn’t have one! But we were determined to be the schools best punk band!

We would jam in the school’s music room and constantly have kids coming back asking if we had the stereo on which to me was a massive compliment and only fueled the fire within me. I was alive when I was playing songs for people and just nailing the riffs and the chorus! I was unstoppable and could not get enough of the attention! Especially from the girls! In my own little world I was already a rockstar and from that I burnt out. Rather quickly I must add. I thought I had learnt the guitar well enough that I would trade it in on an electric piano! What a massive mistake that was! I truly should have stuck with doing what I had grown to love however decided the challenge of something new broke through and I just had to follow that new dream.

The good news is I am playing the guitar again and albeit guitar for beginners I am very much getting back the same passion I once had standing in front of all those people! I have even started a blog on how I am learning to get myself back to the former glory of Skunk Mutha’s Pastry.
