Acoustic guitar implies box guitar. Which means a natural sound that is not amplified using electrical means. Actually I prefer acoustic guitar than that of electric guitar. It has been a passion for me to play guitar since childhood. And I remember the time I wished I could touch the guitar in the church but no one would let me. Though I play both guitars now, the box guitar is my favorite.
When we talk about playing the acoustic guitar we may think of simple songs maybe country songs. Because most country songs are accompanied with box guitar. So let us see how we can play the C chords in a country style. The group of chords in the C major are C, Am, Dm, G. The G chord can be either G major or G seventh. So we go through the chords in the sequence as it is written.
So hold the C chord and start playing in such a way that with each second keep beating the G key which is the E key hold down at fret 3 and the C key which is the A key hold down at fret 3. Keep on playing the two keys repeatedly with each second you count. Then in the middle of the two G key and C key play the remaining strings. This is a typical country guitar playing style. Then keep on doing the same with other keys and take the time to Master these chords. So these are only chords that accompany a song. If you know any simple country song, try to sing along with this acoustic guitar playing style.
